About Us
Dr. Shiman attended the prestigious Honors Program in Medicine at the University of Miami’s Miller School of medicine, graduating with his medical degree at the top of his class. He was inducted into the elite Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Shiman continued his training with a medical internship in the Department of Medicine at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He then completed his dermatology residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he received the residents’ award for excellence in dermatological surgery.
He has worked both in private practice and as former faculty at the University of Miami. Dr. Shiman was a former assistant professor at the Mohs skin cancer clinic at Sylvester Cancer Center.
He provides the full suite of dermatological services, including medical, surgical (Mohs surgery) and cosmetic procedures. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has an interest in early detection and treatment of skin cancer: including the use of Mohs micrographic surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and American Society for Mohs Surgery (ASMS).
